If you’re not in one of the countries/regions above, there are no changes to the YouTube Partner Program for you.You can view this article for the YPP overview, eligibility, and application instructions relevant to you.
Check your eligibility for the expanded YouTube Partner Program. If you’re not eligible yet, select Get notified in the Earn area of YouTube Studio. We’ll send you an email once we’ve rolled the expanded YPP program to you and you’ve reached the eligibility thresholds.
If you’re in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), you can earn money through these monetization features if you meet the thresholds and eligibility requirements:

Access ways to earn
Once in YPP, partners can pick and choose from contract modulesthey’re eligible for to unlock earning opportunities. This approach also gives creators increased transparency and focus to decide which monetization opportunities are right for their channel.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio
- In the left Menu, select Earn.
- Click Get started for each optional Module to review and accept terms.
Watch Page Ads
Starting mid-January 2023, existing YouTube partners in YPP must review and accept the Watch Page Monetization Module to continue earning ad revenue from the Watch Page.
You can earn from ads that show up before, during, after, and around your videos on the Watch Page. You can also earn revenue when a YouTube Premium subscriber watches your content on the Watch Page.
The Watch Page represents pages within YouTube, YouTube Music, and YouTube Kids dedicated to the description and playback of your long-form or live streaming videos. To earn ad and YouTube Premium revenue on long-form or live streaming videos viewed on the Watch Page, or when embedded on other sites in the YouTube Video Player, you must acceptthe Watch Page Monetization Module.
Shorts Feed Ads
Accepting the Shorts Monetization Module allows your channel to share revenue from ads viewed between videos in the Shorts Feed. Shorts ad revenue sharing will begin accruing on the date you accept this Module. For more details on how ad revenue sharing works for Shorts, view our YouTube Shorts monetization policies.
Commerce Product Module
The Commerce Product Module (and formerly available Commerce Product Addendum) lets you earn revenue from fan funding features while connecting with your fans. Fan funding features range from channel memberships to Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Super Thanks. To earn revenue from fan funding features, you must accept the Commerce Product Module (CPM) and turn on the individual features. Creators that signed the Commerce Product Addendum (CPA) don’t have to sign the new Commerce Product Module. Turn onWatch Page ads
If your video meets our advertiser-friendly content guidelines, you can turn on ads. If you’re not sure that your video is eligible, check out the self-certification guidance and examples on that page. Choosing to turn on ads doesn’t mean that ads will automatically open on a video. Before any ads show up, the video will go through a standard process including automated or human reviews to verify if it meets our guidelines.
By turning on ads for videos on YouTube, you confirm that you have all the necessary rights to the visual and audio elements of those videos.
Turn on ads for individual videos
Turn on ads for one video you've already uploaded:
- Go to YouTube Studio.
- In the left Menu, select Content .
- Next to the relevant video, click Monetization.
- Click On in the monetization dropdown.
- Click Save.
Turn on ads for multiple videos
To turn on ads for multiple videos you’ve already uploaded:
- Go to YouTube Studio.
- In the left menu, select Content .
- Select the gray box on the left of the video thumbnail for any video that you want to monetize.
- Click the Edit dropdown in the black bar above your video list Monetization.
- Click On in the monetization dropdown.
- To change ad settings for mid-roll ads in bulk: Click Edit Ad settings Check the box next to “Place ads during video (mid-roll)” and decide whether you want auto mid-roll ads for videos without ad breaks or all videos.
- Click Update videos Check the box next to “I understand the implications of this action” Update videos.
Turn on Shorts Feed ads
All content monetizing with ads must follow our advertiser-friendly content guidelines. On Shorts, only views of content that follow our advertiser-friendly guidelines will be eligible for revenue sharing. To share revenue from ads viewed between videos in the Shorts Feed, review, and accept the Shorts Monetization Module in the Earn section of YouTube Studio.
Turn on channel memberships
Channel memberships lets viewers join your channel through monthly payments and get access to members-only perks you offer, like badges, emoji, and other goods. Learn more about eligibilityand how to turn on channel memberships.
Turn on Shopping
Shopping lets creators connect their store to YouTube and showcase their products, while earning money. If you’re eligible, you can also promote products from other brands in your content and earn money. Learn more about eligibility and how Shopping works.
Turn on Super Chat & Super Stickers
Super Chat and Super Stickers are ways to connect fans with creators, during live streams and Premieres. Fans can buy Super Chats to highlight their message within live chat or Super Stickers to get an animated image that surfaces in live chat. Turn on Super Thanks
Super Thanks lets creators earn revenue from viewers who want to show extra gratitude for their videos. Fans can buy a one-time animation and get to post a distinct, colorful, and customizable comment in the video’s comment section.Learn more about eligibility and how to turn on Super Thanks.
Turn on YouTube Premium revenue
If a viewer who is subscribed to YouTube Premium watches your content, you get part of the fee they pay for YouTube Premium. All content you post (that meets our Community Guidelines) is eligible for YouTube Premium revenue. To earn YouTube Premium revenue for:
- Long form videos: Accept the Watch Page Monetization Module and turn on Watch Page ads
- Shorts: Accept the Shorts Feed Monetization Module
